Six miles from the nearest licensed saloon.
This was the way our founders described the town surrounding Kiski in 1893. (Saltsburg now has a few such establishments, but these are, of course, of no matter to our boys.) Though modest in scale, the town features a bank, grocery store, pharmacy, barbershop, and a number of restaurants and specialty shops.
Perhaps Saltsburg's greatest allure for Kiski boys are the many pizza parlors that deliver to our campus on weekends or during casual meals.
For those boys who want to spend a few hours in town, our faculty members make several trips a week into Saltsburg and gladly take boys along with them.
Only 20 miles from anything you'll ever need.
About 20 miles to the east, you'll find Indiana, Penn., a college town home to the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Head west and you'll reach Monroeville, a large suburb of Pittsburgh. To the south lies Greensburg and the closest shopping mall to Saltsburg. Between these three locations, the Kiski community finds all it may need that is not immediately available in Saltsburg.
