In addition to the school's letter of recommendation, many colleges require one or two teacher recommendations. Decide which two teachers to ask for recommendations and then find out if those teachers are willing to write a letter for you. If they are, they need to fill out a contract stating their intent. This contract should be filled out as soon as possible and submitted to the College Counseling Office. It is ultimately your responsibility to remind the teachers to bring their letter of recommendation to our office so that we can include the letter with your application packet.
If a specific form(s) is to be completed by the teacher, be sure to complete all the pertinent information and sign the form if necessary. If you can give all your requests and forms along with complete instructions at one time, that is extremely helpful to busy teachers writing many letters of recommendations. Your organization and courtesy can make the process go smoothly.
