The American College Test is a standardized test used in college admissions in place of the SAT. Unlike the SAT, which offers separate reasoning and achievement components, the ACT is a single comprehensive exam which measure reasoning skills and accumulated knowledge in english, mathematics, reading and science. There is also a separate writing section that you may take. It is scored on a scale of 1(low) to 36 (high). Some colleges require the ACT rather than the SAT I; others allow either ACT or the SAT Reasoning Test to be submitted.
