John A. Pidgeon Library

Housing a lifetime of reading to honor a lifetime of dedication.
Our Headmaster Emeritus, John A. Pidgeon's life-long devotion to The Kiski School is honored in the fine facility and collection of the library which bears his name. In addition to the 20,000 volumes on the shelves of the Pidgeon Library are another 13 million titles available through ACCESS PA, the statewide online database of nearly 3000 libraries.  Add the many subscription databases and selected online resources, and the John A. Pidgeon Library guarantees students and faculty the ability to find materials for virtually any topic of study and research.

Serving our community in nearly as many ways as its namesake

On your next visit to the library, be sure to enjoy the Bradley Reading Room, a comfortable space for recreational reading overlooking the campus pond and our golf course. Spend a few hours in the school archives and peruse Kiski yearbooks, newspapers, and memorabilia from years past, along with old and rare books from the original Kiski library. Or browse the Emerson Room to view the special collection of Ralph Waldo Emerson artifacts given in honor of Mr. Pidgeon.

The Computer Services department on the second floor is a place frequented by Kiski students and faculty alike, and the library's large lecture hall and seminar rooms accommodate a variety of audiences. The Kiski School's Summer Reading program, overseen by the Library Staff, provides a forum for the discussion of a wide variety of books chosen and moderated by Kiski Faculty.

...with the same degree of excellence.
In the year 2000, the Pennsylvania School Library Association recognized the excellence of the John A. Pidgeon Library by naming it Outstanding Individual School Library Information Center in Pennsylvania.
