Check with your human resources department to find out if your company has such a program. We'll be happy to help you fill out the paperwork. |

EITC (Education Improvement Tax Credit) Program The Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program allows businesses to effectively make a gift to Kiski of up to $200,000, replacing their tax liability to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, at little or no additional cost whatsoever. If your business pays certain Pennsylvania State income taxes, the combination of tax credits and deductions available can reduce the cost of your gift to zero. Put another way, the dollars your business would have paid to the State in taxes will instead be diverted as a gift to Kiski in satisfaction of your Pennsylvania tax liability.
For more informaition about the EITC program, please visit this page. |

Gifts of Securities With a gift of securities, you may save taxes twice. First, you receive an immediate income tax deduction for the full fair market value of your securities; then, you may also avoid capital gains tax on the stock's value if it exceeds the purchase price. Should your securties have lost value you may sell the securities to claim the loss and then make a gift of the proceeds resulting from the sale. There are some restrictions; please consult your financial / investment advisor before initiating a gift of securities. To make a gift of securities, please provide your advisor with the following information:
Contact: Debora Kuzmanko
UBS Financial Services
500 Grant Street, 46th Floor
Pittsburgh, PA 15219
Tel: (412) 665-9906 or (800) 605-3767
To further credit of Kiskiminetas Springs School:
General Fund Account: # HV-66422-DK
Federal Tax EIN: #25-0995765
Please contact the Kiski Advancement Office stating your donation and note the number of shares of stock to be given.
A gift of transferred securities is considered complete when it is received in Kiski’s account.
Kiski will value the securities by averaging the high, low, and closing sale price on the date of your gift. The averaging can cause the value of your gift to be different from the actual sale price.

IRA Charitable Rollover The IRA Charitable Rollover is a tax incentive that allows individuals aged 70½ and older to donate up to $100,000 from their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and Roth IRAs to public charities without having to count the distributions as taxable income.
As part of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (H.R.1424), signed into law on October 3, 2008, Congress restored and extended the IRA charitable rollover giving incentive through 2009.
How does the IRA Rollover Work? Taxpayers age 70½ and older are required to make annual distributions from their IRAs. The distributions are included in the taxpayers’ adjusted gross income (AGI), and taxpayers pay taxes on them. The IRA Charitable Rollover permits taxpayers to make donations directly to charitable organizations from their IRAs without counting them as part of their AGI and, consequently, without paying taxes on them.
Only contributions made between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009, are eligible for the enhanced tax benefit.
Please contact us or your investment advisor for more information. |

Capital Giving The School was proud to publicly announce that we are slightly over $2 million and more than 50 percent of the way toward our Second Phase goal of $3.5 million in new capital funding. The beginning and quiet phase of the campaign was very successful and now the School will be talking with and soliciting a new round of donors so that we can meet and exceed the goal allowing us to build the new Swank Student Center for Kiski. To view video of new Student Center click here.
The new Swank Student Center will enhance the campus environment by centralizing and expanding facilities to support student activities, academic services, community gathering and other important offerings. Located in the heart of campus, the Center will allow students from every grade to interact and socialize together, bringing a new dimension to the Kiski experience. Relocating and enlarging the bookstore and snack bar, both presently housed on the north edge of campus, will make these resources readily available to students, teachers, parents and other visitors. A state-of-the-art media center, several student meeting rooms and advisory offices will facilitate greater educational opportunity through hands-on learning and group study sessions. Most importantly, moving the College Counseling Office into the Student Center will enable our guidance staff to interact daily with each boy, while providing an appropriate location for college representatives to meet with our students. The Swank Student Center will quickly become the hub of student life and extracurricular learning on campus.
In addition to the $3.5 million that will be raised for the new Swank Student Center, Kiski is also actively raising new funding to support scholarships, athletics, the arts, technology, and the endowment.
Kiski Trustee, David Conrad, who shared his excitement about Kiski as well as a recent video from WQED’s On-Q Magazine covering his documentary film about Kiski and legendary teacher and coach, Tamas Szilagyi. He encourages alumni to return to Kiski on June 6 and 7, 2008 for Alumni Reunion Weekend, unveiling to the public a viewing of his documentary. The School plans the viewing for Saturday afternoon, June 7. More information will be forthcoming during the next few weeks. To view the KDKA vignette about Tamas, please click here.
