Alumni Weekend | Saturday's Events
6/12/2009
Saturday was sunny, breezy and beautiful. Many alumni and their
families participated in an array of activities. The day began with a
buffet breakfast. In the afternoon, activities included golf, tennis,
pottery workshops, walking tours of campus, lunch under the tent,
children’s games and activities.
The winners of the golf
tournament were from the Class of 1984 who managed a one stroke lead
thanks to a Woods-ish approach by Vic Balest '67. On the tennis courts
alumni representing the seventies, eighties and nineties strung
together some good rallies and had a great time.
At 6:00 p.m. a cocktail reception was held in the Swank Student Center
and the headmaster gave his state of the School address. Then a
fabulous dinner under the party tent. Alumni received awards, class
captains were honored, and class photos were taken. Those interested in
hockey had the opportunity to watch the Penguins on numerous flat
screens in the Swank Student Center - although it may have been a
better night to be outdoors and not viewing the game.
The evening concluded with fireworks from Saltsburg’s Canal Days and
sitting around the bonfire reminiscing with friends, sharing memories
of Kiski days, and conversations of Kiski’s promising future.
