Diversity Statement

Kiski supports an environment in which everyone is respected, accepted and appreciated. Our community is a diverse one, comprised of individuals with a variety of personal experiences, values and worldviews that arise from differences of culture and circumstance. Such differences include, but are not limited to, race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, language, physical ability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status and national origin.

We believe:

  • That maintaining an atmosphere of openness, respect and trust in which everyone is encouraged to explore and discuss their values, beliefs and behaviors in an honest and dignified way contributes to open-mindedness, reflection and the development of community in its most ideal sense.

  • That learning about and celebrating the diverse life experiences of others broadens and deepens the educational experience of our students and enhances the scholarly environment in which they study and grow.

  • That fostering and sustaining an environment of inclusiveness empowers all to achieve their highest potential without fear of prejudice or bias.

We expect every member of our school community to embrace the underlying values of this vision and to demonstrate an abiding commitment to these principles and ideals. We expect that this commitment will be evident in each member's daily interactions with other members of the Kiski community, and beyond.
