Since its founding in 1888 Kiski has been a life-changing experience for all of its graduates. I know because I joined the faculty in 1990 and, since 2002, I’ve had the honor of being the Head of School. I’ve witnessed the remarkable effects that this exceptional place has on its students. Through our encouraging environment, student-centered teaching, and attentive staff, students slowly and surely transform into confident, responsible, caring young adults. In doing so, they develop bonds that last a lifetime. It’s always rewarding to see.
Kiski’s long history has been marked by constantly improving on our ability to ensure every student thrives. Today, we offer a dynamic college preparatory curriculum, enhanced by diverse offerings in the arts, and a robust STEAM program. Small classes allow our teachers, almost all of whom live on campus, to model the habits we expect our students to learn and practice: honesty, civility, tenacity, and open-mindedness.
Our teachers love what they do and our faculty is committed to helping our students develop the skills and proficiencies they will need to survive and thrive in college and beyond.
We are proud of the broad diversity that exists within our school community. It’s our responsibility to provide the necessary framework to guarantee it is nurtured and sustained in order to ensure that all of our students know that they are valued, supported, and loved.
If you’re a prospective family, please take a moment to explore our site and learn why Kiski may be the best choice for your son or daughter. I hope then you will be persuaded to plan a visit to our campus. We are enthusiastic about recent investments in our facilities and outreach. More important, we are proud of our outcomes—students who are succeeding in every way through life-changing classes, opportunities, teachers, and friendships.
All good wishes,
Christopher A. Brueningsen
Head of School
