One of the major differences between attending a day school and a boarding school is the fact that the day doesn’t end when the bells rings at the end of last period. The learning that takes place by our students is just as likely to happen in the dining hall, in the dorm, or on a weekend trip to Pittsburgh to see a baseball game. Kiski provides our boys a deliberate blend of structured and down time to ensure that they become effective managers of their time and energy. Additionally, the hours spent out the classroom allow us to intentionally work with our students on other “soft skills” like leadership, character, co-habitation, empathy, and appreciation of others. While some of this happens organically, weekly dorm and all school meetings, an expansive speaker series, and our Kiski Leadership for Boys Institute are supported by a comprehensive residential life curriculum.
