Kiski was built on the foundation of taking bold actions, especially for the betterment of our students. While we do not know exactly what the future will hold, we will not sit idle and wait for it to define us. We have spent countless hours working through a new way forward for our students.

Students can study in-person or online, with the ability to transition from being a remote learner to a boarding student at any time.
We reimagined our sports, fitness, and enrichment programs, finding new ways to bring students together physically and virtually.

We’ve lowered Kiski’s boarding tuition to 20% less than the national average, and reduced the enrollment deposit as well.

We continually take into account feedback from students and parents to provide the most positive all-around experiences.

Introducing the

ONE Program

Kiski's proactive approach to a new style of learning
For the 2020-2021 school year, we will still be bringing students together, using a ONE Program approach, with two ways to learn. Through a combination of in-person and online learning, our students will have the technology and resources to convene with each other, connect with teachers, and still have the outstanding educational experience that is expected from Kiski.
The synchronous learning style that has proven successful for young men is absolutely still possible, even in a modular classroom setting. The ONE Program provides ample opportunities for our students to be together, even if they are miles apart.

• Classes are scheduled over six blocks vs. seven in 45-minute increments
• Passing time of 25 minutes allows time for extra-help after class, or by appointment
• Extended passing time reduces the number of hallway interactions among students
• Science classes can be extended to 65 minutes on any day for lab experiments
• 70 minutes allotted for all-school meetings and advisory groups on Mondays
• Integrated athletic activities and extracurriculars will happen afternoons and evenings

Kiski is making

a promise to protect.

The health and safety of our students and staff are our top priorities in all plans going forward. With the hopes of having as many students and staff on campus as possible, we’ve put together a fact sheet outlining all the steps we’re taking to keep everyone protected.

In these uncertain times, Kiski is focused on answers.

We have put together a list of frequently asked questions and answers. If you have additional questions or concerns beyond what is listed below, please call us at 724-639-8035.

List of 4 frequently asked questions.

  • What does the program cost?

On-campus students pay our boarding tuition rate of $48,500, which is 20% lower than the national average. Remote learner students pay our day student tuition rate for whatever period of time they’re studying from home. Day student tuition is $10,000 less than boarding tuition, reflecting the cost of room and board. For more information on pricing, view our Affording Kiski page.
  • What are the advantages of the ONE Program for boys?

Years of educational and psychological research have proven that young men share important learning characteristics. We have always kept those characteristics in mind as we planned our curriculum and developed new programs. We know that boys learn better in a synchronous environment, which is why we deliver our online classes in real-time using a videoconferencing platform. Our modified schedule and ONE Program approach were created with the best teaching practices for boys in mind.

Each family’s decision is personal, based on your comfort level with not only the ONE Kiski plan but also the state of our world. If you have concerns and simply want to talk them through, we encourage you to reach out to us at any time. We’re happy to help you navigate your decision, or even just be a sounding board as you think through your situation and considerations. Feel free to call the admission’s team at 724.639.8035.

  • What do parents say about Kiski’s online learning program?

In a recent survey regarding the online program Kiski launched in response to COVID-19, we earned a near-100% satisfaction rating from parents. Our response to COVID-19 has set the stage for how we will move forward for the 2020-2021 school year. Here are some parent comments from the survey:
“We feel that Kiski has done a phenomenal job considering these unprecedented circumstances. Having ‘live’ classes and a daily routine has helped maintain the normalcy of life and keep the boys' minds sharp. Keep up the good work!”
“I feel Kiski has done an outstanding job transitioning to online learning in such an unprecedented set of circumstances. Thank you for making decisions to keep the boys, faculty, and community safe.”
“We have been pleased with the clear and timely communication from the school.”
“My other children attend cyber charter schools, so we have experience with online learning platforms. I’m impressed with how well Kiski adapted to the online format and delivery of the curriculum.”
“I believe Kiski has done a masterful job with the new, complex, and challenging online educational journey caused by the pandemic. I sincerely appreciate the time, talent, and planning that went into this major production to support all of the current students. I also commend the faculty for their regular outreach and personal updates given to parents. Thank you!”
