Announcement from Kiski’s Head of School Search Committee
Dear Kiski Community:
We are pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees has selected Educators Collaborative (EC), a well-established national and international search firm that has conducted over 1,000 head-of-school searches over the past 50 years, to guide us in our search for our next Head of School, who will assume the leadership of Kiski in July 2024. Mary Seppala and Nat Conard, both of whom are experienced school leaders and search consultants, will be the team of EC partners directly engaged with the Kiski community.
Mary and Nat are deeply committed to honoring our legacy of exceptional School Heads by dedicating significant time to get to know and understand Kiski from various perspectives. This will allow them to recruit candidates who have both the experience and personal attributes to seamlessly transition to Kiski and continue to lead our life-changing institution. They will seek leaders who will honor our past while confidently stewarding Kiski through its next chapter.
The search committee is comprised of the following 9 trustees:
Rob Boulware ‘82
John Jacob '89
Dean Mosites ‘72
Joe Orr ‘75
Logan Powell ‘92
Peter Smith ‘72
Committee members provide a diverse professional background comprised of alumni, current and past parents of the school.
Mary and Nat started by asking members of the Kiski community to complete an online survey in preparation for their campus visit on March 10, 2023. During that visit, they met with a wide range of school community members to explain the search process and to listen and learn about all that is unique and special about Kiski. Your input in this process allowed our consultants to develop a deep understanding of both challenges and opportunities present at Kiski today and in turn to craft a leadership profile to guide our search. Our consultants understand that there are many highly skilled school leaders, but Kiski deserves a leader who is deeply committed to the values Kiski holds dear and is poised to make a long-term commitment to continue the trajectory and tradition of this institution.
