Our expert faculty allows us to offer numerous courses in every department to satisfy the specific interests of our students. Boys with a penchant for science can delve into plate tectonics and electromagnetism. Those with historical leanings might choose to debate the new world order of the 21st century, or analyze the effects of tariffs on domestic unemployment, while the artistically inclined can express their creativity through paint, charcoal, wood, or other media.

Even those you didn't know you had.
Our departmental requirements ensure that all of our boys have the chance to discover a passion. This standardization also helps our students acquire content knowledge and develop intellectual habits that will benefit the boys here at Kiski, in higher education, and throughout their lives.

Graduation Requirements

Departmental Components

Every candidate for graduation from The Kiski School must successfully complete a total of 20 credits. Of these 20 credits, we require the following:
  • Four years of English
  • Four years of mathematics
  • Three years of the same foreign language
  • Three years of laboratory sciences
  • Three years of history
  • Two years of fine arts
Research Component
In addition to these courses, students must write a research paper during their junior year. This project allows our boys to investigate a subject of interest in greater depth than it may otherwise receive in the regular curriculum. Additionally, it allows our students to conduct research and express their findings as they will at the college level. Through close collaboration with a faculty advisor, students will work through the various phases of the research process, from gathering information to constructing an argument and revising their written work. The research advisor will assess each boy's performance during the process and in the final product.
