The bonds of teamwork inspire growth

Sports are a big part of life at The Kiski School. Each season, every student participates in at least one sport. They get to play and train in top-notch facilities, like our 75,000 sq. ft. Ross Athletic Center. We also have one of the finest high school tracks in the country, a nine-hole golf course, miles of beautiful cross-country trails, and an excellent baseball facility. Kiski offers more than 23 boys, girls, and co-ed athletic teams with over 300 contests. Athletes of every level have an opportunity to grow, compete, and try something new.

Big benefits come from participating in Kiski athletics. The Kiski School proudly produces Division I, II, and III athletes across all sports. On average, 30% of our graduates go on to play sports at the college level. Our athletics program is just one more way that The Kiski School helps students set and reach higher goals for themselves.

Through athletics, our boys and girls learn invaluable life lessons, such as teamwork, unselfishness, perseverance and hard work toward a common goal. And whether students come with no sports experience or are stars in their sport, our coaches have the remarkable ability to boost their skills and confidence, allowing each athlete to reach their full potential.

Kiski offers multiple sports across every season, with co-ed, all boys, and all girls teams. Currently, our co-ed offerings include cross country, swimming, and track & field, golf, ice hockey, tennis, and strength & conditioning. For more information about each specific sport and participation, please contact Christopher Spahn, Director of Athletics.

Ross Athletic Center

A beacon of our athletics program is our 75,000 square foot Ross Athletic Center which includes a multi-use indoor training center, known as the MUG. This gym is used for training in many of our sports. The weight and cardio training rooms are complete with weights and Perform-X equipment. The Ross Athletic Center houses athletic department offices and meeting rooms and features major upgrades to locker rooms, storage areas, as well as a satellite bookstore and concession stand. The campus also features several fields for football, soccer, baseball, and lacrosse; a nine-hole golf course; a 400-meter state-of-the-art, all-weather track; five all-weather tennis courts; and an outdoor swimming pool.

Athletics Hall of Fame

The Kiski School’s Athletics Hall of Fame was formed marking its quasquicentennial (125th Anniversary) to honor those alumni and coaches who have made significant and outstanding contributions to the athletic programs at Kiski. The nominees have continued to exemplify the core values of Kiski: principles of integrity, humility, sportsmanship, tolerance, and service in their personal and professional lives. In order to be eligible, the nominated athlete, coach, or team must be ten years removed from Kiski. Coaches, posthumous nominees, and benefactors will be inducted at the discretion of the Hall of Fame Inductee Committee.

Centennial Cup

The Centennial Cup is a celebration of the athletic rivalry between The Kiski School and Mercersburg Academy that dates back to 1913. The “Cup” commemorates the 100th year of storied competition between these two premier Pennsylvania boarding schools and honors the athletes and coaches who have made this one of the most compelling rivalries in private school athletics.

The Centennial Cup is a year-long athletic competition between The Kiski School and Mercersburg Academy. Each School’s varsity athletic teams will compete against one another, with the winning team earning two points for their school. At the end of the year, the points will be calculated and the cup will be awarded to the winning school to proudly display on their campus for the following year. The winning school’s name and the year will be inscribed at the base of the trophy.
