Aside from the obvious, there are several things about Kiski you may not know. Here are some quick facts and figures to get you more acquainted with us:
The Origins of “Kiski”
The Kiski School’s name is derived from the Kiskiminetas River. Our campus sits on a bluff above two streams that meet forming the Kiskiminetas River. Kiskiminetas means enlightenment to the Native Americans who used to gather and fish at these streams.
Our Amazing Location
Located on 350 acres of forested land, our campus has ample room for young men to explore the outdoors, stay physically active, and in-touch with nature. We’re also less than an hour away from Pittsburgh, which is full of history, educational events, and is giving Silicon Valley a run for its money as the latest tech city and innovation space.
At Kiski, we know how important it is for future generations to be able to use and understand the latest technology as they pursue their careers. We’ve partnered with Inventionland to create state-of-the-art makerspaces at Kiski where our students can learn to work with their hands and find real-life applications for theories they learn in class.
Over the years, Kiski has developed a diverse student population representing 13 countries with 25% international students. You can learn more about how Kiski fosters diversity and encourages acceptance with our feature on the Culture Pot club.
Over 30 Activities and Clubs
New students are sure to find extracurricular activities to join at Kiski. With over 30 student organizations and clubs to occupy their free time, Kiski boys don’t have time to feel homesick. They are also sure to make life-long friends with similar interests as they become automatic members of the Kiski Brotherhood.
Yes, you read that right. Between fundraising and donations, we’re able to provide around $4 million in financial aid to students in need every year.
Volunteering and Leadership Programs
Kiski students logged over 2,000 hours of community service last year. Our volunteer programs help students build character and develop leadership skills while also teaching the importance of giving back.
The Best Education a Young Man Can Receive
The Kiski School consistently produces academics, athletes, and leaders. Our mission is to go beyond a basic high school education and teach young boys how to become successful men.
