Kiski Florida Meet-up a Great Time for All Involved

On Saturday, February 23, 2019, The Kiski School held a special gathering and a truly wonderful “beach party” at the home of Ellen and Russ Swank ’67 in Bonita Springs. Florida. This Kiski event was held to celebrate and thank alumni, current and past parents, trustees, and generous supporters of the School.

Headmaster Chris Brueningsen, Associate Headmaster for Institutional Advancement Steve Szilagyi ’88, and Associate Headmaster for Enrollment Management Adam Schapiro were in attendance to give the group timely and personal updates about Kiski, the ongoing success of the alumni legacy and admission programs, and the successful completion of the School’s recent and record-breaking $34 million Capital Campaign. Those present learned a lot about many new capital investments that have directly strengthened Kiski by supporting dorm renovations and expansions, additional campus improvement projects (the new entryway to the School and the new Hoag outdoor athletic court), curricular advances and technological innovations, student scholarships, the new indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, and the ongoing growth of the School’s endowment.

Mr. Szilagyi thanked everyone for their loyal and generous support of the annual giving program known as The Kiski Fund as well as the many projects that were part of the recent and very successful capital campaign for the School, the students, and the campus. He also thanked everyone for their robust support of ongoing capital improvement projects as well as their ongoing support of the School’s admission programs and the alumni-legacy admission program. Mr. Swank then stepped up and personally thanked everyone for coming to the event and thanked all in attendance for their thoughtful and generous strategic investments in the School. Mr. Brueningsen then took over to make his special presentation to the group. He thanked everyone for their ongoing financial support and generosity and he supplied the group with freshly updated information about the success of the recently completed capital campaign for the School as well as some new and exciting ideas for future campus updating.
In particular, he shared uplifting information about the recently completed and state-of-the-art Zeigler Science and Engineering Center. This new building has had a very quick and positive impact on the science and engineering classes being taught at Kiski. The current Kiski boys love this new building!

At the end of the presentations, everyone was thanked again and joyously celebrated for their ongoing investments in Kiski and the School’s diverse portfolio of fundraising projects. The group was asked to continue working with the School’s institutional advancement and admission teams. All in attendance enjoyed themselves and they appeared to be very happy with the thorough and positive updates about Kiski and the successful results of the Capital Campaign. It was clear that all in attendance were happy with Kiski and they now look forward to continuing to play an important role in Kiski’s ongoing renaissance. Kiski would like to again thank Ellen and Russ Swank ’67 and all who attended this very special event for the Kiski family in Florida. The School is thankful for all who helped to make this “beach party” in Florida such an enjoyable and memorable gathering. Kiski hopes to do it again in the near future!
