Baseball has been one of the premier sports at The Kiski School since the school was founded in 1888. Early Kiski squads would play local high school and college freshmen teams.
Today's Kiski Cougars host schools from the tri-state area at Andreini Field, located at the entrance to the school's campus. This state of the art facility features a lighted grass infield with fully enclosed, below-ground dugouts. The announcer's booth/press box is elevated above the playing surface. Fans can enjoy the action from the 500 seat, covered grandstand. Fans also enjoy the convenience of a full service snack stand.
The dedicated indoor facility includes two batting cages with pitching machines as well as hitting screens to accommodate tee and soft toss stations. A separate gym houses pitching mounds and sufficient space for long toss and indoor situational play simulation.
Kiski supports two baseball teams. The varsity team maintains a smaller 14-16 man roster guaranteeing valuable playing time experience to each of its members. The varsity teams schedules 25 - 30 games per season mostly with public and private schools from the area.
The larger junior varsity squad places emphasis on instruction and skill development. With a 10 -12 game schedule JV players are each assured of adequate playing time.
If you have any questions about Kiski or the baseball program, please contact Chris Spahn, chris.spahn@kiski.org.
