Kiski vs St James

The Kiski Cougar wrestlers braved the coldest day of this winter season. Sixteen wrestlers traveled to a dual match at St. James School in Hagerstown, MD. The Cougars believed that there was a possibility that this would be “their match”, to win. The first weight class to hit the mat was 144 lb. and Kiski’s wrestler injury-defaulted last week in his last match, so for the Cougars this weight class was a forfeit. Kiski had five wrestlers that delivered the hammer on the mat and ended their match with a Pin Fall. The first wrestler to lay down the hammer was Jackson Sandor, 150 lb. weight class with a Pin Fall time of 1:27. He was followed four matches later by Zachary Silnutzer (190 lb.) with a Pin Fall time of :40. Elijah Gonzaga followed (215 lb.) with a Pin Fall time of 1:52. He was followed by Gabriel Hilty (285 lb.) with a Pin Fall time of :54. Last to hammer in a nail was Liam McKlveen (106 lb.) with a Pin Fall time of 3:58.

With the cougars giving up three forfeits, the deal was sealed and it was clear that this wouldn’t be their match to win. The final score was Kiski 33 and St. James 42. Despite the weather and the loss, it was a good day and a good match.
